The term export means shipping the goods and services out of the port of a country. The seller of such goods and services is referred to as an "exporter" and is based in the country of export whereas the overseas based buyer is referred to as an "importer". In international trade, "exports" refers to selling goods and services produced in the home country to other markets.
Export of commercial quantities of goods normally requires involvement of the customs authorities in both the country of export and the country of import. The advent of small trades over the internet such as through Amazon and eBay have largely bypassed the involvement of Customs in many countries because of the low individual values of these trades. Nonetheless, these small exports are still subject to legal restrictions applied by the country of export. An export's counterpart is an import.
The theory of international trade and commercial policy is one of the oldest branches of economic thought. Exporting is a major component of international trade, and the macroeconomic risks and benefits of exporting are regularly discussed and disputed by economists and others. Two views concerning international trade present different perspectives. The first recognizes the benefits of international trade. The second concerns itself with the possibility that certain domestic industries (or laborers, or culture) could be harmed by foreign competition.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (/ˈkɒŋɡoʊ/; French pronunciation: [kɔ̃ɡo]; French: République démocratique du Congo), also known as DR Congo, DRC, DROC, RDC, Congo-Kinshasa, or simply Congo is a country located in Central Africa. From 1971 to 1997 it was named Zaïre. The DRC borders the Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, and South Sudan to the north; Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania to the east; Zambia and Angola to the south; and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. It is the second largest country in Africa by area, the largest in Subsaharan Africa, and the eleventh largest in the world. With a population of over 75 million, the Democratic Republic of the Congo is the most populated officially Francophone country, the fourth most populated nation in Africa and the nineteenth most populated country in the world.
The Congolese Civil Wars, which began in 1996, brought about the end of Mobutu Sese Seko's 31-year reign and devastated the country. The wars ultimately involved nine African nations, multiple groups of UN peacekeepers and twenty armed groups, and resulted in the deaths of 5.4 million people.
A democratic republic is, strictly speaking, a country that is both a republic and a democracy. It is one where ultimate authority and power is derived from the citizens, and the government itself is run through elected officials.
However, in recent practice, countries that have described themselves as democratic republics have not always held free or fair elections. Two examples of this were the German Democratic Republic and the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, communist states commonly known as East Germany and North Vietnam. Another is the Democratic Republic of the Congo which in 2011 was rated by Freedom House as a "not free" country, having a rating of 6.0 (1.0 being completely free and 7.0 being completely unfree). Also, the 'Democratic People's Republic of Korea', commonly known as North Korea, is rated the least democratic in the world, run by a dictator. A republic is a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote.

The Republic of the Congo (French: République du Congo), also known as Congo, Congo Republic,West Congo, or Congo-Brazzaville, is a country located in Central Africa. It is bordered by five countries: Gabon to the west; Cameroon to the northwest; the Central African Republic to the northeast; the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the east and south; and the Angolan exclave of Cabinda to the southwest.
The region was dominated by Bantu-speaking tribes, who built trade links leading into the Congo River basin. Congo-Brazzaville was formerly part of the French colony of Equatorial Africa. Upon independence in 1960, the former colony of French Congo became the Republic of the Congo. The People's Republic of the Congo was a Marxist–Leninist one-party state from 1970 to 1991. Multi-party elections have been held since 1992, although a democratically elected government was ousted in the 1997 Republic of the Congo Civil War and President Denis Sassou Nguesso has ruled for 26 of the past 36 years.

TOP 7 Countries With The Most Diamonds Found 7. Angola Earning the 7th spot on the list is Angola. It is known for its vast wildlife and natural resources. This country’s economy suffered greatly during the Angolan Civil War but it began to recover in 2002. Angola is rich in subsoil heritage where its diamond reserves are found. This African country gets most of its revenues in diamond and oil production which generates 60% of Angola’s income. 6. Canada It may seem surprising to many but Canada stands in 6th place, breaking the streak of the African countries. It has a mixed economy and is one of the world’s top trading countries. Canada produces $1.47 billion worth of diamonds in the world and its revenue and economy also depends on the diamond mining industry. Previously, it seems that...

French/Nat President Laurent Kabila's government has threatened war against neighbouring Rwanda after accusing it of masterminding the uprising in eastern Congo. The rebellion has sparked a backlash of anger by some residents in Congo's capital of Kinshasa against Congolese Tutsis - believed to be receiving support from Rwanda. But, pictures from the capital shot earlier this week show people slowly drifting back to normal life after Monday's curfew. Although residents of Kinshasa are slowly trickling back into the city, the atmosphere remains tense. On Tuesday, several Kinshasa businesses owned by Tutsis were reportedly robbed and burned by local residents after a dusk-to-dawn curfew was lifted. The fresh rebellion in Congo has emerged from the same province where Pre...
Democratic Republic of Congo's central bank expects GDP to grow by 2.9 percent this year. That's up from 2.5 percent in 2016, as commodity exports pick up again. The mining and oil sectors account for some 95 percent of export revenues in Congo, Africa's top copper producer. Low commodity prices led the central bank to lower its 2016 growth forecast last week for the fourth time from an original projection of 9 percent.

Trafficking illegal minerals is a crime that is transitional in nature. The illicit trade strains relations between countries and is used for malicious gains. Kenya is no exception and has been accused previously of being a transit point for gold brought in from the Democratic Republic of Congo between 2010 and 2011. Official documents from the Department of Mines and Geology seen by K24 news show that gold exported from Kenya within the said period was from Kenya and companies involved in the export were genuine and licensed.

Who are the primary exploiters of Coltan in the Congo? Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi and their proxy militias are the primary exploiters of coltan in the Congo. In an 18 month period Rwanda made $250 million as a result of exploitation of coltan in the Congo. Although Rwanda and Uganda possess little or no coltan, during the period of the war in the Congo, their exports escalated exponentially. For example, Rwanda's coltan export went from less than 50 tons in 1995 to almost 250 tons in 1998. Zero cassiterite was transported from the Congo to Uganda in 1998, however by 2000 151 drums were transported. The United Nations notes in its 2001 report on the Illegal Exploitation of Natural Resources in the congo that"The consequences of illegal exploitation has been twofold: (a)massive availability of...

Rwanda has set a target of a 28 per cent annual export growth by 2020. As a rapidly growing economy, Rwanda imports more than it exports leading to a growing trade deficit. However between 2008 and 2012 export growth averaged 26 per cent compared with growth in imports of 18 per cent. CNBC Africa's Bonney Tunya spoke to Rwanda's Minister of Trade and Industry, Francois Kanimba; Busisiwe Legodi, CEO of CIMERWA Limited and Hannington Namara, Country Director of Trademark East Africa for a discussion on fast tracking trade and industrial policies in Rwanda.
